Slovenia will be represented with a special program at this year’s Liepzig DOK, where 255 films from 55 countries will be shown. Since the turn of the millennium, Slovenian animation film art has experienced an enormous upswing. Funding programs enable and encourage a new generation of animated filmmakers to put their poetic, original visions into practice – and to leave their mark on the film world. We follow them, animated and inspired.

Slovenian animation will be represented with a program of 19 animated films (Grega Mastnak, Špela Čadež, Dušan Kastelic, Leon Vidmar, Darko Masnec, Zvonko Čoh, Miha Reja, Milanka Fabjančič, Timon Leder, Boris Dolenc, Leo Černic), curated by Igor Prassel, the director of the Animateka. In the presence of Igor Prassel, Špela Čadež, Leon Vidmar and producer Tina Smrekar.
