Glasbe sveta
About
Glasbe sveta/Musiche dal mondo is an international cross-border music festival, which connects the neigbouring cities of Nova Gorica (Slovenia) and Gorizia (Italy) as well as their surroundings. Established in 2011, it focuses on the presentation of different musical expressions from all over the world, shedding light on globally acclaimed artists from Africa, Asia, North, Central and South America as well as Europe. The festival is co-produced by the Slovenian cultural association KUD Morgan, the Regional Museum Goriški muzej, and the Italian cultural association Controtempo Jazz, which joined the production in 2019.

Concerts usually take place at two scenic venues, the park of Kromberk Castle in Nova Gorica (Slovenia) and the garden of the Villa Attems in Ločnik near Gorizia (Italy). Built in the 17th century, both venues offer an evocative and enchanting s setting for top notch concerts. Alternative venues also include the Verdi Theatre (Gorizia), the Nova Gorica Arts Centre and KC Mostovna (Solkan).

Since 2011, the festival has presented various representatives from the sphperes of "world music", jazz, funk, soul and rock, including some of the most imporatant Slovenian and Italian artists of our day and age. Past guests include globally acclaimed artists such as Kamasi Washington, Fred Wesley, Kokoroko, Huun-Huur-Tu, Dobet Gnahoré, Sona Jobarteh, Mdou Moctar and many more.
