International Folkore Festival, Beltinci

Launched in 1971, the International Folklore Festival, Beltinci is held in the town of Beltinci in the southeastern part of Slovenia. Taking place at Beltinci Castle and in Beltinci Park, the programme has always featured folkloric dance and custom demonstrations. Over the years, it has expanded to also include exhibitions, book presentations, folk music evenings, cooking and more.

Special emphasis is given to cooperation with Slovenians living across the border. The programme has previously featured guest folkloric groups from Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Austria, Hungary, Italy, Spain, France, Finland, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Mongolia and Canada. In total, over 200 groups have presented more than 400 performances.
