Founder ofIris Award

Slovene Association of Cinematographers was founded in 2001 with an aim to inform and promote the importance and relevance of cinematography to the general public, film colleagues and the cultural-political environments. The association is a member of the Imago – European Federation of Cinematographers that connects round 50 international societies worldwide.

Iris Award

In 2015, the Slovene Association of Cinematographers introduced an annual award for the best achievements in the cinematography, the Iris Award. Directors of photography compete in six categories, for their achievements in the past year.
