Established in 1997, the [[Slovene Chamber of Engineers]] is the national association of engineers working in the fields of machinery, technology, mining and geodesy. Its former section of architects, urban planners and landscape architects became the [[Chamber of Architecture and Spatial Planning of Slovenia (ZAPS)]]. The chamber protects and represents the professional and social interests of its members, primarily in legal matters. It monitors professional standards, acts a link between its members and relevant ministries, prepares documents and offers information. The Slovene Chamber of Engineers was a founding member of European Council of Engineers Chambers, established in Vienna in September 2003.
