Established as a non-profit cultural association in January 1992 in Ljubljana, the Macedonian Cultural Association is the oldest cultural association founded by a minority from the former Yugoslavia in the new state of Slovenia. It unites several sections: the Bilajana mixed choir, a visual arts section, a sports section, a literary section and the children's workshop Šaram baram. Macedonian language and Macedonian dance courses are organised regularly.

In 2007 a cultural event celebrating the 15th anniversary of the Association took place at the Španski borci Cultural House in Moste.

The Association's programme is funded by the Slovene [[Ministry of Culture]], the Macedonian Ministry of Culture, [[Ljubljana Urban Municipality]] and the [[Public Fund for Cultural Activities of the Republic of Slovenia]]. The Association also collaborates with the [[Macedonian Union of Cultural Associations, Slovenia]].
