[[Galerija Fotografija]] ('Photography Gallery') was opened in January 1994 with an exhibition of 47 Slovene artists of all generations and genres. The gallery aims at popularisation of high-quality photography and its presentation to a wide public audience in order to develop a market for artworks in this medium. At the 2005 auction works by several Slovene and international photographers were available including some anonymous pictures from the end of the 19th and 20th century.

Alongside monthly solo exhibitions (eg Jože Suhadolnik, Joco Žnidaršič, Jane Štravs, Helmut Newton, Stefan Lupino) and some group exhibitions ('Hasselblad Masters') the gallery also presents lectures, screenings of the masters and project presentations.
