The [[Festival of Independent Film and Video]] was established in [[established::1996]] by [[Borko Radešček]] and the [[Cineast Cultural and Artistic Association]]. For the next 10 years it took place in Ljubljana and it brought attention to the Slovene amateur film production. Its last edition took place in 2004.

Today the [[Festival of Independent Film]] is run in Domžale, also with the support of the [[Public Fund for Cultural Activities of the Republic of Slovenia]]. It is organised by Cultural Associations CUT! and MILF.
