Biography

Members of Your Gay Thoughts began writing their story as a band that mostly played cover songs. Gregij Felis Catus and Aljaž Košir - Fejzo became the sole members of that band at some point but they also got into DJ-ing and electronic music production at the same time. They founded the Don't Make New People collective together with some other enthusiasts and started organising club events. For their first performance under the Your Gay Thoughts guise, they invited illustrator Mina Fina to join them as a VJ. They have been performing and conceiving new material together ever since. The fourth, covert, member of Your Gay Thoughts is Michael Thomas Taren who wrote most of the lyrics to their songs during one of their rehearsals.

Live

Your Gay Thoughts started performing live in 2011 and they have been known for numerous and engaging gigs since then. The venues they have played include clubs, concert halls, galleries, open-air events (Bikofe), exhibitions (Pop-up dom closing event) and other types of events that strive to promote collaboration, creativity, and culture. Some of their most notable performances include the Junior Boys concert in Kino Šiška Centre for Urban Culture when they were invited to support this Canadian indie-pop duet and the Klub K4 gig in 2012 when they, together with Ontervjabbit, supported Oneohtrix Point Never on his European tour.

The summer of 2013 was a busy year for this 3-piece. They were chosen to play at the Terraneo Festival in Šibenik, Croatia, appeared on a Rx:tx compilation, and played a gig in Rotterdam, Holland. They also supported Kate Boy, an Australian-Swedish pop-electro outfit, on their Kino Šiška Centre for Urban Culture concert. The year 2014 proved to be even more exciting: the band was picked to appear on INmusic festival in Zagreb, Croatia. They also played at the MAD in Belgrade festival in the park of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade (a benefit concert to help flood victims in Serbia). All the band members are involved in many different activities connected to visual arts, music, and culture, but they still find time to keep a packed schedule as Your Gay Thoughts. In 2014, they took part in the Radio Študent (RŠ) Club Marathon tour and performed at Waves Vienna festival in Austria (together with two other Slovene acts: Nikki Louder and Oknai.

Their songs appeared on different mixtapes and their track Westside was even remixed by another Slovene producer, Some1Else, in the Radio Študent (RŠ) DJ Seansa programme. Their first record is in the making.
