The Commission for National Communities present issues that refer to legislation relating to Hungarian and Italian national communities in Slovenia at National Assembly sessions. It is led by the two representatives of the national minorities who make up one of eight deputy groups in the National Assembly. The Italian and Hungarian minority representatives are democratically elected at public elections. The last election of representatives to the Slovene National Assembly took place in October 2004.
