The somewhat quirky electronic noise line-up [[Theremidi Orchestra]] (TO) was founded as a result of a three-day theremin and theremidi physical interface workshop at [[Ljudmila - Ljubljana Digital Media Lab|Ljudmila]] in May [[established::2011]] under the menthorship of Borut Savski from [[Cirkulacija 2]] collective. The fascination for electromagnetic sound waves of the DIY theremin, which was used as a sound theme for some of the obscure US sci-fi film production in the 1950s and 1960s, grew into what the members of the orchestra define as exploring and producing sounds with the help of DIY gadgets, antennas, conductive ink, umbrellas, wire ducklings, air tubes, flowers, and scrap metal. Their live acts are considered to be an experiment-seeking intervention or performances  rather than a musical concert.
