Svarog is a club for independent film established in Piran-Pirano in 2004 with the aim of stimulating film creativity. In July 2004 it supported Martin Marzidovšek's first short film Der Bericht ('The Report'), which was shot in Heidelberg and later presented in Germany, Hungary and Slovenia. In December 2004 Svarog organised the four-day film workshop Švenk at Villa Moretini in Ankaran, with film director Franci Slak and cinematographer Radovan Čok as guest tutors. In the same month Svarog prepared visual screening materials and a stage set for the multimedia ambient performance Vrtinec ('The Whirl'). In 2005 the film (s)prehod (Promenada) was shot in Koper-Capodistria and at the Sečovlje salt pans in a joint project involving Svarog and several other cultural groups, and in October 2006 Svarog facilitated the shooting of the short film 'In the Shadow'.
Svarog is a member of the Film Union of Slovenia.
