International recognition
The town Zagorje, situated in central Slovenia, was the home town of world renowned conductor Carlos Kleiber, who visited the orchestra's rehearsal in 1997. The world-famous virtuoso flute player James Galway paid a visit to the orchestra in 1996. The Orchestra has performed in Hartberg, Graz, Tieschen, Voelkermarkt (Austria); Livorno, Riva del Garda, Azzano Deccimo (Italy); Ostrava (Czech Republic); Larvik (Norway); and Chicago (USA). The Orchestra successfully resented Slovene musical culture around the world with performances which include Slovene musical works. In Chicago the Orchestra played with soloist clarinettist, member of Ariart, Jože Kotar and flautist Matej Zupan.
