Launched in established::1996, Pomurje Summer Festival is one of the bigger summer festivals that are taking place in the Pomurje region. It combines various cultural and sporting events with a summer school for children, and features both local and international musicians. It has a something for everyone programming policy that features three main sections – music concerts; cultural spectacles and theatre plays; and the so called TRK's Sport Week (riding excursions, street basketball, farmer's athletic competitions and similar). | Launched in established::1996, Pomurje Summer Festival is one of the bigger summer festivals that are taking place in the Pomurje region. The music programme often brings popular pop and rock musicians from the ex-Yugoslavian region like Prljavo Kazalište, Crvena jabuka, Plavi Orkestar, Severina, Gibonni and the many bands who are performing the klape music from the Croatian Dalmatia. Of the Slovenian musicians, the list goes from punk legends Pankrti to the numerous folk-pop ensembles (like the immensly popular Modrijani), featuring big names from rock (Big Foot Mama) and pop (Jan Plestenjak). Tribute bands that do music from the likes of AC/DC, Guns N'Roses and U2 are also regular in the line-up.
