Tomaž Godec Museum was founded in a former tannery in Bohinjska Bistrica 1979 within the former home of athlete, mountaineer and progressive politician Tomaž Godec (1905–1942), a vigorous champion of tourism development in Bohinj who was executed during the Second World War; Three permanent exhibitions are displayed; the Tannery museum, the Little War museum of the Soča front, 1915–1917, and exhibition on Tomaž Godec. Gorenjska Museum, Kranj took over the management of the collections in 1997.


Exhibitions

One of the collections is dedicated to the life and work of Tomaž Godec himself, while another focuses on a major historical event which took place at the house in 1939 - the drawing up of the constitution of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia.
