Founded in 1990 by Matjaž Pograjc, [[Betontanc]] is a versatile group which creates physical performances based on meticulous dramaturgy. Betontanc's first production, Pesniki brez žepov ('Poets without Pockets'), was performed in the cellar corridor of Poljanska Grammar School in Ljubljana. In 2002 Maison des rendez-vous was co-produced with the Centre Choreographique National de Rennes et de Bretagne and in 2004 Wrestling Dostoyevsky was premiered at Schauspielhaus Vienna. A politically-engaged performance of Everybody for Berlusconi in collaboration with the Jonghollandia group was premiered in the Netherlands in 2004.
