Revision as of 00:15, 18 November 2009
To date the Folk Slovenia Cultural Society has published two CD-compilations, Modern Folk Music in Slovenia I and Modern Folk Music in Slovenia II. Some musicians are loyal to the characteristics of their region of origin (such as, for example, Kurja koža from Styria, La Zonta from Northern Istria, Marko banda from Prekmurje, Tomaž Podobnikar from Carniola and Ljoba Jenče from the Notranjska region), whilst other musicians draw inspiration from other parts of Slovenia, eg Tolovaj Mataj, who gains his inspiration from Rezija, Istria, Carniola and Bela Krajina, and the female vocal group Katice, who are inspired by folk music from Rezija and Porabje. Other musicians featured are Bogdana Herman, Istrianski Mužikanti and Trutamora Slovenica.
