In the past, the Lendava Synagogue functioned as religious centre for Jews from the Prekmurje region. It had room for about 150 worshippers, next to the synagogue there was a Jewish school and a residence for the rabbi. The former School was demolished in the end of the 90s.
Today, the programme in the Synagogue is managed by the Lendava-Lendva Institute for Culture and Promotion (ZKPL-MPIL).
