Background
The name of the festival is a direct analogy to Philp K. Dick's novel »Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?«. The idea of electric dreams for the name of this small and progressive international video festival was associated with several different species, from rats, androids to humans. Since the very beginning of the festival the aim was to popularise videastic experimental works and also more filmic approaches in the field of visual art.
Dreaming Videos
In order to expand the practices in video art the festival usually includes several competitions sections: Debitants, One Minute Video, Video Shot by Mobile Phone, Animation, section Anything Goes and Honourable Award. So far, the competition programme was accompanied by screenings of video works by students of Academy of Fine Arts and Design and video workshops under the mentorship of Neven Korda from the association Zank.
