The European Institute for Communication and Culture has published the quarterly scholarly journal Javnost ('The Public') since 1994. It is an interdisciplinary journal in the social sciences which addresses problems of the public sphere at international and interdisciplinary levels, stimulates the development of theory and research in the field and helps understand and bridge the differences between different cultures. Its contributors confront problems of the public - public communication, public opinion, public discourse, publicness, publicity and public life - from a variety of disciplinary and theoretical perspectives. The magazine is supported by the Slovene Ministry of Science and Technology. It is published predominantly in English, but also includes some articles and abstracts in Slovene. The major part of each issue is devoted to a specific theme, while the remainder of the issue is reserved for manuscripts centred on general topics. The journal regularly carries book reviews, essays, research reports and commentaries. | The European Institute for Communication and Culture has published the quarterly scholarly journal Javnost ('The Public') since 1994.
