The Association of Slovene Festivals was established in June 2000 by four founding festivals - the Festival Brežice Group Early Music Festival, the Festival Ljubljana, the Lent Festival and the Primorska Summer Festival, Koper-Capodistria (see below). The contract obliges the four festivals to exchange experience, promote stronger joint performances at home and abroad, encourage investment in culture by Slovene artists abroad and promote international co-operation. The Association of Slovene Festivals is open to other festivals that feature mainly professional artists.
