Membership
The members of the Society are individuals, not companies (cf. the Association of Book Publishers), who have to be approved by the Supervisory Board of the Association upon joining. Members' commitment is voluntary, yet substantial. The Association endeavours to influence the publishing industry via international networking and to enhance professionalism through exchange of education and experience.
International co-operation
With the aid of the Ministry of Culture the Association has twice organised the Knjiga na Slovenskem ('Books in Slovenia') congress in Portorož. The most recent congress is taking place in May 2011 under the title Electronic Book where distinguished guests from Slovenia and abroad (Netherlands, Great Britain, Belgium, Norway and Spain) will be hosted.
