The library caters for the needs of Ajdovščina and Vipava population, totalling around 23,360 people. Its collection comprises a total of 100,000 units and 205 titles of magazines, plus DVDs, CDs and CD-ROMs. Its 8,000 registered readers borrow 325,000 items annually.
The library organises many events for children as well as for adults and functions as an information and social centre. Services for people with special needs include access for disabled people, facilities for mothers with babies and magnifying spectacles that can be borrowed.
