In the 2003 event a series of international lectures dealt with a range of topics, including work of the European Booksellers' Federation, the issue of author's rights in the age of electronic publishing, fixing the prices of books, the history of the book trade and publishing in Europe, and the development of book publishing within the territory of the former Yugoslavia. Speakers were from Finland, the Netherlands, Croatia, the UK and Slovenia.
The main topic under discussion at the 21st Publishing Academy of 2005 was co-operation between smaller publishers. The event featured lectures by foreign experts, with American Robert Baensch as keynote speaker, and a discussion on publishing in an era of globalisation.
