Programme overview
Since its inception in 1983 the Culture House hosted musicians and classical concerts by Dubravka Tomšič Srebotnjak, Irena Grafenauer, James Morrison, Marjana Lipovšek, RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, and many others. The venue also hosts and organises summer festival Slovenj Gradec Summer [Slovenjegraško poletje], which hosts regional cultural associations and remains the main cultural attraction of the season in the town and the region Koroška.
As a partner town of Maribor, European Capital of Culture 2012, the focus in Slovenj Gradec will be on composer Hugo Wolf. In 2012 the town plans an opening of renovated museum and a documentation centre devoted to the most famous citizen and organise an international workshop on classical solo singing.
