Launched in 1994, Viri (Sources) - subtitled Studies in History and Applied Arts - is published every two years by the [[National Museum of Slovenia]]. It presents the results of research into the material culture of various historical periods in Slovenia, with the aim of ensuring that material remains are accorded equal value as a historical source to the written word. Collections of such material remains in the National Museum of Slovenia are published along with the studies, together with discussions about individual aspects of the material culture of the Slovenes. Past issues have focused on medals and medallions, pilgrims' badges, religious textiles, cream-coloured earthenware, and the collection of medieval glass in the National Museum. Papers are in Slovene with abstracts in English.
