The festival includes in its programme (competition and side programme) performances of all genres and formats, while the performances are selected by a selector, who travels to see all potentially eligible performances and then selects six to eight performances which are invited to the Meeting. The jury confers the Matiček Award for best performance of the festival as well as may confer up to three awards for special achievements. The festival also hosts performances by Slovene minorities living in Austria, Croatia, and Hungary, as well as performances from other countries. The last four editions of Linhart's Meetings took place in Postojna.
