Zasavje Noisefest International is a yet young festival, first set up in 2014. While carrying on with the tradition of presenting experimental sound and noise music, which has back in 2001 started with the now retired Noise Festival, this festival has been stationed at the periphery, in the Zasavje region. The core of it taking place at a temporarily set up venue called Rudarski Vašhau, which was originally a decommissioned bathhouse for miners in the Zasavje region. Alongside this, the festival is also extended to other venues in Slovenia, from Ljubljana to Bistrica ob Sotli.

Background

The spiritus movens of the festival is Neven Agalma, a musician himself, who is active under many guises, with the most known probably being Cadlag, Onttervjabbit and Dodecahedragraph. Before setting up the festival, he started organising events in Delavski dom Trbovlje Cultural Centre. This concert series that started in 2013 and is still taking place is called Noise kurilnica [Noise Boiler Room]

This varied and napeto activity of Neven probably helps a lot in presenting a varied and internationally minded line-up, for which he is (for now unformally) cooperating with various other crews and festivals, such as the San Ludovico festival from Italy and Dirtmor crew fromm Treviso. Link title
