Besides communicating the works of the selected poets to the festival selectors, Versopolis.com strives to also position itself %ndash; by means of a webportal %ndash; as a nodal point for european poetry. As this is otherwise predominantely dispersed on the web on a national basis, Versopolis aims for a more open and diverse european culture of poetry. As such, Versopolis is supported by the European Commission’s Creative Europe programme.
Beletrina Publishing Institute is leading and coordinating this project which currently includes 11 countries, 55 poets and 11 festivals. These include Ars Poetica (Slovakia), Genoa International Poetry Festival (Italy), Ůmeas Internationella Litteraturfestival (Sweden), Instytut Kultury Miejskiej (Poland), Ledbury Poetry Festival (Great Britain), Struski veceri na poezijata (Macedonia), Poetinis Druskininku Ruduo (Lithuania), Felix Poetry Festival (Belgium), Goranovo Prolječe Croatia), Literature & Wine Festival (Austria) and Days of Poetry and Wine Festival, Slovenija. The latter is organised by Beletrina Publishing Institute.
