Named after celebrated Slovene dramatist and historian Anton Tomaž Linhart (1756-1795), Linhart's Meetings is an annual festival of performances by non-professional Slovene performing arts groups, which is organised each year in a different city by the Public Fund for Cultural Activities. The Meetings comprises two categories: amateur groups and secondary school arts groups. A selector travels to see all potentially eligible performances and then selects the six performances which are invited to the Meeting. The Matiček Award is bestowed on the best performances and achievements.
The 45th Linhart's Meeting of September 2006 took place in Postojna and Pivka. This festival also hosted performances by Slovene minorities living in Austria, Croatia and Hungary.
