Background
The first generation of Gorica skateboarders, who were active from the beginning of 1990s, named themselves 13.brat (13th brother). They organized events in a club CRMK in Šempeter near Nova Gorica. From 1993 to 2000 the members who were a part of the hardcore music scene started publishing a self-named fanzine, 13.brat. There were only eight numbers published, but until this day it is believed to be one of the most influential, if not the most influential Slovene hardcore fanzine. Through this fanzine and letters a Slovene hardcore community was formed, for internet was not a part of every household back then. 13.brat collective was also active in playing in different bands and organizing concerts, especially in a Slovene hardcore Mecca, Club Jutro (Morning) in Ajdovščina. The record label Choose Life evolved from the 13.brat collective, which later altered into Moonlee Records. In 1998 Klub 13.brat (Club 13.brat), a co-founder of Zavod Masovna was established. In Mostovna Cultural Centre they organized an open air hardcore punk festival City of… and still maintain to organize a couple of concerts.
