Rdeči revirji! - Red Beats! Festival

In 2003 Vitkar Institute launched the annual Rdeči revirji - Red Beats! Festival, an international festival of various art forms. The festival takes place in the small Slovene mining town of Hrastnik. In future it is intended that the festival will spread around the Posavje region and all over Slovenia. A non-competitive spring festival is intended to bring together theatre people and the people living in a small mine town community to join in a relaxed atmosphere of circus, theatre, puppets-marionette and dance. The performances take place either indoor or in the street. The festival supports all kind of experimental creative initiatives and non-conventional forms that bring art close to the common people. A special morning programme is organised for small children and youth. The annual invitation to international groups is published in March (cf Artservis.org).
