Društvo Afriški center, Komenskega 22, SI-1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia,

The African Centre in Ljubljana is registered as an NGO (društvo or 'association'). Its activities comprise workshops, seminars and lectures that present African culture to Slovenes. The Centre offers information for travellers to Africa or assists in finding jobs for people who came to Slovenia from Africa. The African Centre collaborates with other African initiatives around Slovenia, with individuals as well as groups (eg the Nigerian community in Slovenia). Cultural and social events have been organised, usually in co-operation with volunteers. In 2003 the African Centre co-operated with the United Nations High Commission for Refugees in organising the 18th Festival of African Film, which took place in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Vienna, and Ljubljana. Since 2006 the African Centre has been active in events at Tovarna Rog in downtown Ljubljana. The Centre organises monthly African evenings, which are a combination of informational and cultural events, which typically start with a round table discussion of a topical issue and end up with a party.
