The CUP Awards are bestowed since 2007 at the Intercontinental Advertising CUP for the best work in each of the 38 categories arranged in three main groups: the Best of Products & Services, the Best of Media, the Best of Admaking. The Grand CUP Award is granted for the most outstanding work, the best of all CUP Awards. Additional award is given to the best Agency of the year.
The mission of the award is affirmation of locally inspired creativity. The international jury consisting of the prominent leaders of advertising industry selects the CUP Awards from the short listed entries from the Golden Drum Advertising Festival of New Europe, ADFEST, FIAP, and ADC*E. The work Pretty Neighbourhood by BBDO Argentina received the first Grand CUP Award in 2007. The 2008 award was given to agency JWT Spain for the campaign La Clave Reserva. In 2009 the Grand CUP was awarded to GT Inc for the video Love Distance.
The trophy of the CUP Awards is the Cup made of stainless steel with the engraved name of the winner and names of jury members. Visual identity of the Cup was designed by Matevž Medja, and the trophy by Miha Klinar, GigoDesign.
