Leading Slovene artist Stane Kregar (1905-1973) was a priest and a painter who graduated from the Prague Academy of Fine Arts in 1935, and later taught drawing at the classical grammar school in Ljubljana. The Stane Kregar Gallery, part of the St Stanislav’s institution for education and culture of the Diocesan Classical Grammar School in Ljubljana-Šentvid, presents around 85 works by the prominent artist. The collection spans his work from surrealism to abstract art, presenting paintings, mosaics, frescoes, stained glass and the liturgical clothes he created for Slovene churches. A hall is available and can accommodate 300 people as either a concert or lecture hall.
