Nights in Ljubljana Old Town is a festival that has been going on since 1988 and its broad programme is traditionally presented in the last week of August. The concerts are held at a dozen different, mostly open-air locations in the old city centre, each of them having a clearly defined programme concept (e.g. the stage in front of the City Hall – large ensembles, orchestras and big bands; Gornji trg – avant-garde jazz, etc.)

Programme

Musically, the festival primarily deal with jazz, ethno music and classical music, fore-fronting an international selection of contemporary creative endeavours in these fields. The programme features both Slovene artists as well as foreign performers (who usually from all over the world), with the focus of the festival being young artists and contemporary musical works.

The project also includes literary events, art exhibitions, dance performances, and different art workshops and round tables.
