Brežice Library is a public library that engages in educational, entertainment, cultural and information activities for people in Brežice Municipality. In 2008, it had 5,749 members and its collection consisted of 104,319 items. Its library stock is searchable via the COBISS - Slovene Virtual Library system and consists of different books (monographs, periodicals, etc) as well as video cassettes, audio CDs, CD-ROMs, DVDs, etc. The library offers free information from electronic databases (IUS-INFO, EBSCOhost, OCLC and Bonex). It organises many events (book readings, presentations, exhibitions etc.) for children and adults; the events organised in 2008 had 6,739 visitors. In 2010 it started offering free computer courses.

The library was established in 1946. In addition to its central space, it has two movable book collections - at Pišece and at the military barracks in Cerklje ob Krki.
