Vertigo Bird is a design branch of the Slovene lighting company Sijaj Hrastnik, both managed by Silvo Kačar, who is also a founder of the international lightning company Arcadia Lightwear, and a member of the design group called Smoke Detektors.
Background
In search for the appropriate name for the new brand, the inspiration was found in the contemporary dance video Vertigo Bird by Sašo Podgoršek and En-Knap Productions. A dance performance which takes place in a coalmine ends with a meaningful scene – a dancer Iztok Kovač climbs high up the shaft and at the end walks on the edge of the high chimney just like a Vertigo Bird. The name was born, presenting the brand's birthplace and mission – the desire to reach the global market.
