Prešernova družba has never issued a large number of book titles, but it has a large membership covering a very large cross-section of the population. Under the slogan 'More reading, more knowledge and more fun for each member of the family', families are invited to join the society. It publishes between five and seven books in its annual Prešernov koledar series, one or two books in the series 'Hundreds of Slovene Things', a reference book (relating to health and fitness, food, home and gardening), some novels for adults and some stories for children ('Good Night Collection'). Prešernova družba excels in the field of children's books and also publishes the magazines Otrok and družina ('Child and Family') and Trobentica.
Prešernova družba runs PD Bookstore, which is also a literary events venue.
