Radio Murski val is a regional radio station established in 1959. Its programmes are aimed at people living in north eastern Slovenia, but it was created for the 500,000 people who live between the Drava and Raba rivers (and also in the Porabje region of Hungary). Programmes focus on pluralistic reporting of political, cultural, religious, economic and other issues, with a special interest in the Porabje Slovenes living in Hungary, the Hungarian and Romany minorities living in Prekmurje, the student population and different religious groups.

The station is transmitted via Pečarovci at the frequency 94.6 MHz FM, via Zlatoličje at 105.7 MHz FM and via Nemčavci at the frequency 648 kHz FM.

In recent years Radio Murski val has implemented various different projects. It has participated in the EU Small Project Improvement of Information Services in the Border Region, and since 1999 it has also co-operated with the Governmental Office for Information in programmes relating to EU information distribution.
