The podcast grew out of the hosts' informal live-streamed conversations on social media in 2022. Episodes cover current exhibitions and projects, mostly in Ljubljana, though the hosts have also introduced Emfazna zaledja, a series dedicated to art festivals across Slovenia (launched 2025). Some episodes feature international guests and are available in English – among them a conversation with Marina Abramović, episodes with curators from the MeetFactory Residence Programme in Prague, and features on artists shown at DobraVaga Gallery and the Pixxelpoint Festival. The podcast is supported by the Ministry of Culture.
Podcast's name
The name Kritiški pose(la)dek is, in the hosts' own words, self-ironically derived from "the intersection of the deficit profession of the art critic, hanging out over coffee and sugar-laden snacks" – a spirit reflected in the podcast's visual identity and social media presence.
