The Dance Centre Cultural Association was established in 2007 in Maribor, offering dance education for children, youth, and adults, delivered by trained and experienced dance educators with an emphasis on artistic quality and respect for dance makers of all orientations and backgrounds. The Centre runs Oder Gosposka, a performance venue in the heart of Maribor, and cooperates with local cultural institutions including Maribor Puppet Theatre, Slovene National Theatre Maribor, and KIBLA Multimedia Centre.

Programme

Classes span modern and contemporary technique, ballet, urban genres, and pole dancing – the last of which gave rise to Pandora, the first Slovenian pole dance group, which also stages performances.

Within the Centre operates Tovarishia Dance Company, comprising contemporary dancers from the Centre's educational activities and creating dance performances, outdoor performances, and dance videos and films.

Heartbeat Hears the Beat is an international arts platform for the deaf that grew out of the Dance Centre, bringing together artists to develop workshops, performances, and international exchanges.
