Founded in 2014 by director, screenwriter and producer Dejan Babosek, Narayan Production produces films, music videos and commercials for the Slovenian and regional market. It is perhaps best known for the feature film Preboj (Breakthrough), directed by Babosek himself in 2019.

Babosek has also been a prolific producer and director of music videos (over 300 by the end of 2020) for some of the biggest names in Slovenian popular music.

Films

After concentrating on music videos through the 2000s, Babosek made his feature-directing debut in 2013 with Izhod (Exit). He has since gone on to direct four films, all produced by Narayan: the docudrama V imenu resnice (In the Name of the Truth, 2017); Strah (Fear, 2017), a 30-minute feature financed by the Slovenian Film Centre and examining the racist violence suffered by migrants to Slovenia in the middle of the decade; Ksana (2017), a family drama; and Preboj (Breakthrough, 2019), which revived the "Partisan film" genre popular in Yugoslavia and was reportedly the first such film made in Slovenia since independence.

Awards

Preboj won two Vesna Awards, Audience and Special Achievement, in 2020.
