Set up to foster international cooperation in the arts, the Residence Centre Cankarjeva hosts artists from abroad by providing them with the space and infrastructure for living and working. It primarily focuses on projects that in one way or another relate to the Slovene cultural and artistic space. The residency programme was established in 2010. Artists are selected on the basis of an annual call.
For more information about participating, see the Artist-in-Residence Programmes Infographics.
Conditions
The residence centre's infrastructure – in the heart of Ljubljana halfway between Prešeren Square and Tivoli Park – enables multidisciplinary work processes and comprises two dwelling units, a multipurpose lecture room, a smaller hall for film and theatre performances, a studio and a specialised library. The proximity of the centre to artistic and cultural activities in Ljubljana is a definite plus.
