Film selection
The festival lasts for only three days (with an additional pre-event) and has a rather limited budget, so the number of presented feature movies still hovers around ten. Some previously screened films include Before Sunset (Richard Linklater, US, 2004), Drinking Buddies (Joe Swanberg, US, 2013), Hungry Man (Philip Martin, FR, 2013), Narco Cultura (Shaul Schwartz, MX, 2013), Submarine (Richard Ayoade, UK, 2010), Tea Time (Maite Alberdi, CL, 2014) and What a Wonderful World (Anatol Durbală, MD, 2015).
Alongside these, short movies represent another important festival feature and are usually screened in collaboration with other festivals and institutions.
Collaborations
While the current Slovenian short film production is covered by the Kraken Film Society (which otherwise organises the film festival FeKK), a more international programme is done in cooperation with the Croatian Tabor Film Festival and the Austrian K3 International Short Film Festival, presenting the best short films of the respective festivals. A selection of films made at the movie-making marathon MUVIT/6×60 is also presented.
Another collaboration is the Odprto platno (Open Canvas) project, which is organised together with KUD SubArt and Legit Films and is basically a public call for movies on certain given topics.
Additionally, there is a showcase of the most imaginative Slovenian music videos, curated by the web-portal Podoba-Glasba.si. In presenting a programme of animated features, Film Mixer also collaborates with Animateka International Animated Film Festival.
