The International Animation Film Festival ZEBRA, created and hosted by the team of SHOTS Film Festival, is based in the charming medieval historic town of Slovenj Gradec, Slovenia. The festival will be holding its seventh edition on July 27th, 2024.

The team members of the ZEBRA Film Festival felt the need to create a place and a film festival that would cherish beautiful animated films suited for children, kids, teens, adults, and their inner child. The festival's goal is to show films to a young audience, encouraging them through these films and hopefully giving them a new perspective on the world through different stories.

The festival, with no entrance fee, takes place in the city center of Slovenj Gradec and lasts a whole day, from 12:00 to 24:00. There are five different venues located in amazing places within different institutions: The Museum, The Art Gallery, The Pop Up Store, and the open venue in the city center. Visitors receive the Zebra Map, specially created for the festival, to help them navigate the five different festival venues throughout the day.

ZEBRA offers various activities throughout the day. Visitors are invited to attend different activities and workshops in the city center, grab a slice of delicious festival-special pizza and popcorn, and walk to different venues. There is no hurry to catch films, as the film program is repeated every 30 minutes.

Zebra Among the Starts

The evening program of the festival (also free of charge) features films more suitable for teens and adults. The evening program, called Zebra Among the Stars, has become very popular in recent years and has the highest attendance. The main street of the city center is shut down for traffic and becomes an open-air cinema for those who cherish heartfelt animated stories.
