The [[Slovene Clarinet Sextet]] is a unique musical group which has been working together since 1996 when it was founded by Tomaž Kmetič. The group is currently led by master clarinetist Jože Kotar and comprises Slovenia’s third generation of clarinetists, who play a wide range of instruments including the standard orchestral B flat and A clarinets, alto clarinet, basset horn, the smaller E flat clarinet and the largest bass and contrabass clarinets. All of the artists combine performing and teaching careers, being members of professional orchestras and professors at the [[Academy of Music]] or teachers at secondary and primary music schools. The Slovene Clarinet Sextet plays original music from the 20th and 21st centuries, as well as from earlier and more traditional classical periods. It has performed and recorded in Slovenia and in Italy, Serbia and Montenegro.
