The jury selects five nominees from 30 to 40 submitted proposals which are then allowed to wear the trade-mark of the Original Slovene Picture Book. The award-winning book is announced at a special event.
Many of the awarded books have been illustrated by Andreja Peklar, Zvonko Čoh, Lila Prap, Jelka Reichman, Peter Škerl, Suzi Bricelj, and Matjaž Schmidt, recently also by younger authors (see the list online).
