The Early Printed Collection consists of early examples of printed books and other rare prints, such as 16th-century Protestant books and rare copies of old Slovenian texts. The collection also holds early modern manuscripts, private papers, autographs and manuscript legacies of renowned Slovene authors from classics like [[France Prešeren]] and [[Ivan Cankar]] to contemporary authors such as [[Vitomil Zupan]], [[Janez Menart]], and [[Ivan Volarič Feo]].

The Manuscript Collection and Early Printed Collection within the National and University Library (NUK) functions as the national literary archival department with the most extensive collection in this field in Slovenia.
