LokalPatriot is a venue for quality regional and Slovene creativity, with an emphasis on authorship. Operating as a bar, a cybercafe and a reading room during the daytime, it turns into a venue for concerts, performances, literary events, cinematheque screenings, lectures, etc in the evening.
LokalPatriot incorporates the Multimedia Centre of Dolenjska (MCD), an IT centre with six computers equipped with various software which is active within the M3c Multimedia Centres Network of Slovenia.
It also runs the Simulaker Gallery, an exhibition space which showcases all forms of contemporary visual arts.
LokalPatriot organises the JAZZINTY and Fotopub Festivals, with their respective workshops for musicians and photographers, both representing an excellent opportunity for basic comprehension of the art forms. Every year the Jazzon Award is bestowed after a competition for the best jazz composition. Photographic Experience and the Thursday Award are competition opportunities for amateur and professional photographers to show their work. It also organises the Museum Gardens programme, which offers glamour and entertainment on warm summer nights.
Culture.si offers information on Slovene cultural producers, venues, festivals and support services, all in one place. It encourages international cultural exchange in the fields of arts, culture and heritage. The portal and its content is owned and funded by the Ministry of Culture, funded by the European Union Recovery and Resilience Plan and developed by Ljudmila Art and Science Laboratory.
